We use modern femtosecond/picosecond time-resolved spectroscopy to study structural and dynamical properties of molecular building blocks.

Currently our research focuses on the following areas:

· Photostability of biomolecular building blocks

· Small molecule photoactivation of biological functions

· Development of techniques for biomolecular spectroscopy

· Characterization and control of photoswitchable molecules

· Charge-transfer processes

Ab initio Quantum chemical calculations:

· Ab initio calculations for interpretation of our experimental data

We have immediate openings for new graduate students:

There are immediate openings in our research group for dedicated and motivated graduate students. Please contact Susanne Ullrich at ullrich@physast.uga.edu for further information. See details here.
